Research

There’s more to find out.

I explore how technology shapes what we value, how businesses work, and how we experience the world around us.

The questions often begin with something small: an unexpected recommendation, a changing habit, a detail that seems worth a closer look. I follow them through reading, data, experiments, and building things, and share what I find along the way.

What I’m investigating

  1. The Recommendation Audit What does AI recognize as luxury? When we ask an AI model for a luxury recommendation, its answer offers a glimpse of the brands, qualities, and associations it brings together. I’m studying how leading models respond, using a research plan set out before collecting the results. Explore the study StudyIn progress

Following a question

Sometimes I need to read more. Sometimes I need to compare sources, run an experiment, or build something to see how it behaves.

I’m interested in the moments when an observation becomes a question, and when the evidence changes the question itself. I share the sources, choices, and uncertainties behind the work so readers can follow the reasoning and form their own view.

The aim is to understand something more clearly, then explore what that understanding makes possible.

Forefield

Research, observations, and experiments from where technology, business, and culture meet.

I write about what catches my attention, what I’m learning, and the connections that emerge as I investigate. New research arrives here first, and subscribers hear about the occasional dinner or outing.
