Terms of Service

Effective September 30, 2026. These terms apply when you use proctor.red, send something through it, or book a paid session with me. By using the site, you agree to them. In these terms, "I," "me," and "my" mean Lauren Proctor, and "you" means you.

Using the site

You can browse, read, and share links to anything on proctor.red. Please don't misuse the site. That means no attempts to break or overload it, no automated submissions or spam, and no using it to break the law or harm anyone.

Your submissions

You keep ownership of what you send me, including messages, drawings, notes, and signatures. By submitting something, you give me permission to store it, read it, and use it to reply to you. If you mark a doodle "Show to public" and I approve it, you also give me permission to display your drawing, its name if you gave it one, your signature, your first name, and, if you choose, your time zone’s city on proctor.red, free of charge, for as long as it stays up. That permission covers this site only. I don't sell doodles or use them in advertising. You can ask me to take yours down at any time through the contact form.

You agree that what you submit:

  • Is yours to share, and the signature is your own
  • Isn't illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or threatening
  • Doesn't include anyone else's private information
  • Isn't spam or advertising
  • Doesn't pretend to be someone else, and doesn't infringe anyone's rights

I review public doodles before they appear, and I decide what appears. I may decline, take down, or delete any submission at my discretion, without notice.

Paid sessions

Ground Truth and The Next Move

  • Price and payment. Each session costs the price shown on the site when you book. You pay in full through Stripe when you book on Cal.com, and your booking is confirmed once payment goes through.
  • The Next Move. The Next Move is an optional second-stage session, available only after you complete a Ground Truth session. I send you a private booking link at the end of your Ground Truth session. Booking Ground Truth never obliges you to book it.
  • Where sessions happen. You book sessions on Google Meet. If you’d prefer to meet in person in New York City, or for me to travel to you with your travel costs covered, reply to your booking confirmation and we’ll arrange it.
  • What you receive. Ground Truth includes a one-hour session and written notes. The Next Move includes a one-hour session and a written decision memo. I send notes and memos within 48 hours of the session.
  • Recordings. I record a session only if you ask me to, and I share the recording only with you.
  • Cancelling or rescheduling. Up to 24 hours before your session, you can cancel for a full refund, or reschedule for free up to two times, using the link in your booking confirmation.
  • Late cancellations and no-shows. I don't refund sessions you cancel less than 24 hours ahead or miss without notice.
  • If I need to reschedule. If something comes up on my side, I'll offer you a new time or a full refund, whichever you prefer.

Urgent requests (Ground Truth today)

  • Price. $1,000: the $500 Ground Truth session plus $500 for same-hour availability.
  • A hold, not a charge. When you send an urgent request, Stripe places a $1,000 hold on your card. I charge it only if I accept.
  • My answer. I have 15 minutes to accept or decline. If I decline, or don't answer within 15 minutes, I release the hold and you pay nothing. Your bank may show the hold for a few days before it disappears.
  • If I accept. I charge your card and call you, or send a Google Meet link, now or within the time I give you, up to an hour. You receive the same written notes as a regular Ground Truth session.
  • After I accept, the same terms apply as any Ground Truth session. If something comes up on my side, I'll offer you a new time or a full refund, whichever you prefer. If you cancel or don't show up, I don't refund the session.
  • No guarantee. Sending a request doesn't guarantee I'm available.

Standing Counsel

Ongoing engagements have their own written agreement, which covers scope, access, fees, and exit terms. That agreement governs if it conflicts with these terms.

Confidentiality

I treat what you share in a session as confidential. I won't share it without your permission, except when the law requires me to.

Not professional advice

My sessions offer strategic perspective and a structured way to think through decisions. They aren't legal, financial, tax, investment, medical, or other licensed professional advice. You make your own decisions and remain responsible for them. For advice in those areas, consult a qualified professional.

Analytics and site measurement

To understand how people use the site and to improve it, I use two Google services:

  • Google Tag Manager loads measurement tools on the site.
  • Google Analytics 4 measures visits, such as which pages people view, how they arrive, and roughly where they are.

The Privacy Policy explains what these services collect, when the site asks for your consent, and how to turn analytics off at any time through Cookie settings in the footer. Please don't try to interfere with or manipulate these measurements, for example by generating fake traffic.

Ownership of the site

I own the site's writing, design, and other original content, unless I say otherwise. The wordmark typeface and some icons are licensed from their creators. You can quote short excerpts with a link back to proctor.red, but please don't copy the site or its content wholesale. Notes and memos I write for you are yours to use within your organization.

The site links to other websites, including Storyworlding and my social profiles. I'm not responsible for their content or practices.

Disclaimers and liability

I provide the site as it is, without warranties of any kind. I work to keep it accurate and available, but I can't promise it will always be error-free or online.

To the extent the law allows, I'm not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the site or my sessions. My total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid me in the 12 months before the claim.

Governing law

The laws of the State of New York govern these terms. Any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms. When I do, I'll change the effective date at the top. Sessions you've already booked stay under the terms in place when you booked.
